Kenyan Queens rule the track: Pamela Jelimo and Helen Obiri

Kenya's Golden Girl Pamela Jelimo is back and she is looking forward to London 2012 as I am sure all her fans are too - four years has been a long wait. Meanwhile fantastic Helen Obiri stunned the Ethiopian duo of Gelete Burka and Meseret Defar to take the 3000m title. Don't our Kenyan queens rock?

Is Kenya's Golden Girl Back? Pamela Jelimo Qualifies

Istanbul, Turkey is becoming quite interesting. Kenya's men hopefuls Boaz Lalang and Kitum came third in their respective semi finals and will not be in the finals. Kenyans medal hopeful remains the Kenyan track queens Sylvia Kibet will battle her nemesis Meseret Defar in a new duel in the 3000m and the competition between these two never tires athletic fans. Helen Obiri will take on Gelete Burka in the same race in a finals that is a must watch. But the race everyone will be waiting for is the women's 800m because Kenya's golden girl Pamela Jelimo aka the Nandi express is showing signs of a comeback. Everybody loves a comeback story. Everybody loves a fairy tale and Jelimo is such a story she is the girl who won the Olympics gold at the Birds Nest in Beijing, won the IAAF Golden league made 67million KES and set a new world record in the 800m all in one year....and then vanished just as she had come. It's four years later the girl is a mature woman...but in our minds she is still Golden Jelimo and everyone is asking the big question. Is Kenya's Golden girl back?
